Xia Tian was sitting on the passenger seat, flipping through the pictures of the owner on the car screen, the man was having a good time with a group of naked men and women. He looked at all of them with great interest.

This kind of person when on a party, would most likely not be sober until tomorrow noon. He wondered if Bai Jing An had known that no one would find out that they had used the car for one night before he came in; if someone checks the records, it would be a disaster if they checked the whereabouts of the vehicle.

He turned his head to look at Bai Jing An. The first time Xia Tian saw him he thought that he belonged to the Upper City, It was probably because he didn’t look anxious and embarrassed like the others. He looked detached, calm, and not demanding as if he had known what was bound to happen.

At that time, Xia Tian thought that although people who loved in the upper city were a group of perverts, he could not deny that they looked good wearing a tuxedo.

He looked at Bai Jing An again, but the man on the driver’s seat ignored his gaze and drove the car. Although he was driving a stolen car to discard a dead body, he did not look strange, he looked ordinary. His lashes cast a shadow on his face, it wa calm as ice; he did not reveal a hint of emotion.

The man drove the car around the corner, across a place where you could see a vast expanse of green space.

Probably because he had thrown up all of the food he had eaten at the bathroom earlier. Xia Tian felt hungry, he fished for a cupcake and chocolate cake inside his pocket.

When he was a child he was often hungry that when he grew up, he stuffed his pockets with snacks whenever he had the chance. They made him feel safe for no reason.

Xia Tian took some marshmallows and cupcakes for a midnight snack, after he went back to the party he would take more. The organizers wouldn’t mind because they were rich. He handed a piece to Bai JIng An who politely refused.

Xia Tian leaned back on his chair and savored his food. Inside the trunk of the car was a suitcase containing the corpse of a man. It was very quiet and pleasant.

The car roared away from the city, the road grew emptier and dilapidated. Bai JIng An turned and drove towards the Lower City.

They didn’t reach the Lower City, they went to the transit area below the Upper City. Where there was a Protein Feed Factory, where plants and corpses were turned into pure protein and fed to the animals in the Lower City. People in the Lower City sometimes eat it too, it was a trend that was intensifying.

The lower City did not have a sun, no plant could grow there, half of the limited food supplies are supplied to the Upper City as a “service fee”. The crops growing in the Upper City were good, but they would never supply to the Lower City. The easiest way to deal with hunger was to feed people with corpses.

The factory was automatic, but it was very dilapidated, on top of the front door was a tattered billboard, “Professional, Clean, Reusable”

They stopped at the back door and tried to open the door. They found that the door was locked with a physical lock. Xia Tian took care of of it, when it opened he dragged the suitcase inside.

The interior of the factory was like a horror film setting, so it has never been exposed to TV. However, they were a resident of Lower City, so they were familiar with these kind of places. There was a sum of large corpses piled up. Humans and animals mixed. They were pushed slowly from the machine to the conveyor belt, and then into the sealing machine.

No one knows what was happening inside. When it comes out, it’s already turned into a clean, thick milky drink with no trace of its predecessor.

He was more familiar with the front desk. There’s a dirty reception robot that buys corpses at a low price, and the whole process is automated. People in the city sometime skill people to sell and make a little money. Those people would look at people with a look of “how much do they weigh” in their eyes. For Xia Tian, it was a normal thing to know some people like those.

He tried to drag Zhi Leng to the automatic scale to weigh him out and see how much he could sell him for. Bai Jing’an grabbed Zhi Leng’s leg and threw him a stern look.

“The money we could gain from this will be enough for a good meal.” Xia Tian said.

“The record will be kept.” Bai Jing’an said.

“I can erase the records.” Xia Tian said, “I could sneak in one program and this place would be like your wife’s…” he swallowed the rest of the phrase that he was so used to saying at the Lower City, “Uh, anyway, you could just change it.”

Bai Jing’an looked at him uncompromisingly and dragged the body inside. Xia Tian had to follow and to comfort himself he thought. ‘Well, anyway. His weight was reduced greatly, he isn’t worth that much.’

In the preparation area, naked corpses were piled up high, all their clothes were taken off and put on the other side. According to the regulations, they were destroyed in a unified way, but most of them were plundered into the black market.

Xia Tian felt that the place was frightening. It was like your final destination. A place where you turn into a white goo.

However, when they took off his clothes and threw him into the pile of corpses, the master planner did not look different from the corpses in the Lower Urban Area, he thought that the place was not that bad, It was a match made in heaven for the master planner.

Xia Tian opened the cold wallet, and skillfully took out all of the cash inside, and threw it back on the body. He found that the rng and the cufflinks the dead body was wearing was not that bad, so he squatted down to get them.

He felt an icy glance, he looked up only to see Bai Jing’an was looking at him coldly.

“What?” He asked.

“I hope you have some common sense.” The man said coldly.

“Do you know how much this worth?” Xia Tian said.

Even if Bai Jing’an knew, he certainly would not be interested either. He reached out wearing a cold look on his face, and Xia Tian stared at him for 10 seconds before reluctantly handing over the ring and the cufflink. The man looked a bit agitated, it was better not to get on his bad side.

Bai Jing’an picked up Zhi Leng’s clothes and bloody suitcase, placed them inside the cremation tank together with the jewels. Xia Tian, rummaged through the clothes of the dead people to see what he could take back.

However, the place was ransacked long ago, the only thing that was left had no value.

One was a pretty good suit, He didn’t know the unlucky who owned it but it wa covered in blood. The poor guy was stabbed with a not-so-sharp knife; he was stabbed a dozen times. So the suit couldn’t be reused anymore and he would get into trouble if he took it.

He felt that the way he killed Zhi Leng was the best way to kill rich people so that the clothes could still be reused without a scratch. Unfortunately, the clothes were burned mercilessly by Bai Jing’an.

He finally found a dog button with a worn-out ear that was worth recycling. His younger sister would love it, he thought. He went to prison and after that miserable time, he was picked for the Murder Show. Ever since then he never saw his sister.

And intellectually, Xia Tian could not imagine his sister surviving in the dark.

He felt a distant pain and anxiety, but nothing could be seen on his face, he still looked relaxed and happy. He put the button inside his pocket. He was used to this feeling, he thought. But Xia Tian couldn’t understand why Bai Jing’an would help him.

Of course, what he did would cause chaos. He would have to pick new comrades for the next round, and the tactic would’ve to be changed again. If he was found then it would be bad, he was already an accessory to the murder; he will be as good as finished.

He felt that if he asked, Bai Jing’an would most likely not pay him any attention or he would just give some random answers – that type of thing that is clearly said but without any useful information. He seems to be able to say two or three dozen of such replies.

However, he decided not to ask any. Incase Bai Jing’an suddenly changed his mind.

He had no idea what was inside the man’s head so he could only guess since the man was a tactical planner, what he would do must be what he felt was most beneficial; he is in a bad situation that he will accept any help from anyone, Whatever the cost.

He didn’t find anything else that was worth recycling, but he was not surprised it was always like this in the factory.

Bai Jing’an starts the machine, burns the clothes, and shoves Zhi Leng’s body to the depth of the machine. No matter if you’re a big shot, The machine would soon grind you and turn you into protein solution.

He skillfully finished the procedures of destroying the corpse, he then turned and left; he went back to the car, coldly locked the compartment, snd started the car. It looked like he just took part in something boring, and he was eager to go back home.

“What about the assistant?” Xia Tian asked.

“Still at the party.” Bai Jing’an said impatiently.

Bai Jing’an drove back to the hotel and parked in the original place; no one found out.

They slipped back to the party. Xia Tian watched him walk into the hall at a brisk pace as if he never left, he showed no sign that he just disposed of a body.

Bai Jing’an smiled and greeted a certain planner, casually took a glass of champagne from the waiter, went to the crowd, and took out two LSD from the “candy box” on the table and put it in the glass.

The party was filled with soft drugs and candy to make sure it was cheerful enough.

Xia Tian watched ashe pretended to hold the glass and joked with a player whom he couldn’t remember while smoothing a green pill into the glass. When he walked into the middle of the hall, the whole glas of champagne was already frenzied.

He passed by the assistant with a distracted look – and an hour he went to Xiaolian and asked him to come to the penthouse. At that moment the man was talking to someone high and drunk, reaching out and gesturing at somethng.

Bai Jing’an quietly handed the cup to him.

The other guy took a sip and continued talking to someone who looked like he had no idea what he’s talking about or what he’s drinking. In a place like this, where everyone is reaching out for a drink, eating, laughing, and sleeping with people, like living in a world without a future.

Xia Tian knew that the content of the cup would make him have a very happy hours, and by the next day no one would be able to take answers from him.

He turned his head, took another sip of his drink and smiled at a pretty chick next to him, maybe he could find some company tonight.

Floating City people lived in an endless game, no scruples, as long as they have fun. and slowly his crime quietly melted away.
